Note for Directors
Since this will be a virtual training, each person registering will need to use their own email address which will allow for communication regarding the training link, survey, and certificate. Please do not register multiple people using the same email address.
What is this training about?
- Join us to look again at the "Windows, Mirrors and Doors" framework of Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop, which calls us to carefully select books for children that serve as mirrors that reflect and affirm their identities, windows that show the identities of others, and doors that encourage action.
- Dr. Toni Sturdivant (The Positive Identity Teacher) will present an embedded webinar: Viewing Literacy and Play with a Diversity Lens as part of this training.
- We will look at anti-racist early childhood care and education through the lens of the five early literacy practices of Every Child Ready to Read (talking, singing, reading, writing, and play experiences prepare children to learn to read).
How will this online training be different from the in-person trainings that Little Read Wagon usually offers?
- Three days before the training, you will receive a reminder email about the training with details about our training platform (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
- The day before your training, you will receive an email with the information for signing in for your training session.
- After the training ends, participants will receive a link for a completion survey by email.
- Please complete your survey within 24 hours. You will receive your certificate of training by email.
